[whohit]Is it a good idea to set the RRP on Amazon?[/whohit]For a while, Amazon has been actively encouraging it’s third party sellers to insert the Recommended Retail Price (RRP) into their listings.

Here you can view one of the e-mails asking a seller on the Italian marketplace to update his listings and suggesting that this will result in an increase of sales:

However, is it true?

Yes, the price strike-through will definitely look good on listings, however experienced sellers know, that failure to exactly match the RRP will actually cause offers to get suppressed over High Pricing or Low Pricing Errors and could also result in a suspension due to violations of Amazon’s Marketplace Fair Pricing Policy.

So definitely stay careful and consider all the risks!
