Amazon’s stock tanks to a several years low after Alexa malfunctions and causes a severe outage

Since early in the morning, over 8,000 people have reported issues with Amazon’s smart assistant, with reports suggesting the outage was widespread across the UK as well as Europe.

Affected Alexa owners experienced difficulty with the gadget this morning – with some users unable to turn off their alarm clocks and switch off their lights.

Independent outage monitor Down Detector said the Alexa problems began around 7am and lasted for a few hours before Amazon said a fix had been rolled out.

However, this did not prevent Amazon’s stock to drop to a several years record low and continue dropping throughout the day.

If you are an investor, you should be hitting the “short” button, because a further drop is anticipated.
