Amazon might launch its own crypto token in the future

Over the past year, job adverts looking for a blockchain specialist to join Amazon were appearing across popular career websites, including LinkedIn. Rumours were spreading that the e-commerce giant is investigating their own options to join and profit out of the recent cryptocurrency hype.

Indeed, Amazon is usually among the first to advance new technology and so far, they have been missing out on implementing crypto within their own platforms.

Today, as I was looking for some new profitable domains to purchase, I discovered that Amazon actually registered a domain www.amazontoken.com, which currently directs to their website:

Since the domain was registered 10 years ago, a few years after Bitcoin was created by mysterious Satoshi Nakamoto, it looks like Amazon anticipated that it will be handy in the future.

Interestingly, it appears like many other crypto-related Amazon domain names are being bought by the Chinese company Alibaba.

As it can be seen, for example www.amazoncrypto.com appears to be registered to Alibaba Cloud Computing (Beijing) Co., Ltd., which means bad news for Amazon:

This confirms that both Amazon and Alibaba are not planning to be left out of the cryptocurrency trend.
