Once your new product is Active on Amazon, then its means that your launching period has started. Amazon takes your product into a so called “trial period”, when it requires a few sales using the keywords which you wish to rank included in your listing’s bullet points, title or description.
Since there is no “new release tag” on Amazon, you will need to quickly impress customers and attract them to your listing, which doesn’t have any rank.
So, starting from the very first day, you need to work on getting sales using all the relevant keywords which you wish to rank on.
In order to achieve a successful launch, many sellers usually do two things: Giveaways on those Keywords (Recommended by JS / Helium 10) or Run PPC on those Keywords (Sponsored Ads).
Giveaways: (Giving away product for FREE). There are many coupon distribution platforms such as Launchpad. What sellers do is create discounted coupons and provide the platforms those codes along with their keywords. Websites distribute those discount codes to their customer community along with the keyword and product ASIN. What buyers then do is type that Keyword into Amazon’s search box and find the product on whichever page it is ranked, and purchase from you. Upon their purchase, Amazon checks which keyword this buyer typed and then associates your product with that Keyword which helps you getting ranked on that Keyword quickly. These websites charge their fee / commission for all this. Because Amazon views these sales as discounted ones, the ranking isn’t as good as the one in case of a regular sale.
Personally, I wouldn’t recommend you to use the first – very popular strategy, because it can be viewed by Amazon as Sales Rank Manipulation.
PPC (Pay Per Click): You run PPC (Sponsored Ads) on all those Keywords, which you wish to rank to get utilized during the “trial period”. Amazon displays your product ad as a sponsored ad on the top of search results, so your chances of a sale will be higher as the product will be visible to a lot of buyers. In sponsored ads, the issue is that there is no guarantee that whoever will see your ad will purchase from you and you will be able to achieve the number of daily sales which you need to rank on specific keywords.
