New mysterious Amazon.PL marketplace appears, causing avalanches of scary credit card update confirmation e-mails

In the evening of 11.January 2020, Amazon secretly unveiled their latest Polish site, which caused thousands of affected sellers whose accounts were randomly chosen by the company to be among the first BETA testers to get bombarded with tons of scary credit card update e-mail confirmations:

Here is a copy of the e-mail wording in English:

Hello from Amazon Services Europe,

Per your request, the credit card information associated with your seller account on Amazon.se has been updated. Future account charges will be made to this credit card.

If you did not request this change, please contact Seller Support.

Regards,
Amazon Services Europe

As you know, randomly getting numerous e-mails from Amazon titled “Your Amazon Seller Account” in different languages informing you of your Seller Account’s charge method being updated can cause a heart attack to any affected merchant, as it indicates that an unauthorized party may have executed changes on your behalf.

The reason behind the credit card update is actually your current charge method being set to be used on the Amazon.PL website, which generated all the additional e-mails across international sites:

When you visit the “Account Info” section of your Seller Account, you will be able to locate there the status of your listings on the Amazon Poland site:

And don’t forget that while Amazon “helped you” with having a valid charge method on file within the Amazon.PL marketplace (without your knowledge), you still don’t have a deposit method linked:

Once the Amazon.PL site goes live and you receive a sale, it will be necessary to add a bank account in order to be paid. Doing this alone can trigger a Seller Identity Verification affecting your whole European Seller Account and possibly causing a suspension.

Interestingly, unlike the Amazon Sweden or Netherlands marketplaces, which were announced months before they appeared in the Seller Central, the Amazon.PL website came out of blue without anyone expecting it.
