Delivery Driver Who Stole Kid’s PS5 Birthday Present Fired By Amazon

Amazon fired an employee who left without delivering one of the countless PlayStation 5 that disappeared on launch day in the UK.

The driver was caught in surveillance cameras by Jenni Walker, who bought a PS5 as a birthday present for her son and ended up becoming one of the immense victims of the controversy that plagued the launch of the console in the UK.

Richard Walker, Jenni’s husband, shared the footage on social media, where you can see the driver taking a box the size of the PS5 box to be delivered back to the van.

Following the incident, the Walker family contacted Amazon, who said it would investigate the incident.

But when Amazon simply offered a gift voucher as compensation, the Walker’s daughter took matters into her own hands, driving in person tot he local Amazon depot and confronting the site’s boss.

Having watched the CCTV footage, the site boss confirmed that the driver was one of his employees, and said they would be fired. Speaking to the press, Amazon said:

We have very high standards for our delivery service providers and how they serve customers. The delivery associate will no longer be delivering on behalf of Amazon.
