Beware of Amazon’s new policy and don’t EVER link your related accounts into a single login!

As you know, decades ago when Amazon began allowing people to register as third party sellers on the platform, one could open a separate account on every international marketplace of the company, without getting suspended.

You could have an UK account, Germany account or Canada account – each of them with a separate login. Getting suspended on one site wouldn’t affect your other storefronts.

Then, Amazon introduced unified European or North American accounts, which enabled sellers to register just two account which would contain all local marketplaces within a single login.

Many sellers welcomed the opportunity, however there was a different reason behind this than making it easier for businesses to manage their stores. Amazon wanted to control the accounts more closely and be able to shut them down all at once.

This time, getting suspended in Germany over Authenticity Complaints or Intellectual Property Rights Infringement Complaints – for example, would impact all your other local accounts at the same time.

The good news were that any other separate international marketplaces would remain unaffected.

In Amazon’s latest update, sellers are encouraged to maintain a single Seller Account which includes all existing international marketplaces, including Europe, North America or Asia.

It is now possible to access them under an united login, without ever having to logout to switch to different marketplaces.

But there is a catch. In case that any of the international marketplaces gets suspended over a specific concern – such as authenticity, every single one of your accounts will get shut down at the same time. So you will be left with no funds and nowhere to trade.

On my OnlyFans page, there are dozens of poor sellers messaging me every day after getting hit with this all-marketplace enforcement which totally cripples their business.

And even if they manage to get one of the stores reinstated, some are reporting failure to have the additional ones restored and even a repeated suspension over related accounts which affects the newly reinstated account.

Here are my tips and advice:

  • DON’T ever link your international Seller Accounts into a Global Unified Account.
  • DON’T ever share charge method or deposit method across international Amazon marketplaces.
  • Maintain separate cards on file in each international Seller Account, never use the same deposit method.
  • Register each of your international Seller Accounts using a different e-mail address.

And here is what an Unified Amazon Seller Account looks like (North America + Asia):
