[whohit]Amazon’s new outrageous approach to claims funded by them[/whohit]Having an A-Z claim funded by Amazon has always been viewed as the neutral outcome between losing and having it denied.
This happened in cases where the company was unable to tell who is at fault after reviewing both the evidence provided by the buyer and seller.
These days, however, Amazon introduced a new way how they are deciding A-Z claims and will now close them as Seller Funded if the merchant recently received an increase of disputes which were covered out of the company’s money, regardless of the circumstances.
It’s another blow to third party sellers who are already getting hit with stricter policies every month.
Here is the translated wording of the A-Z claim outcome where an Amazon Funded claim was reversed into a Seller Funded one with a scandalous message stating “We made you responsible for this claim because you had an increase in claims where we covered the cost of the claimed items without the need for a return”.
The full communication, translated from German:
And here is the original:
As everyone knows, Amazon Funded claims over returns usually happen when the buyer refuses to send the merchandise back and demands a full refund. This situation is becoming increasingly common, leaving the sellers open to A-Z claims.
Until now, these claims used to be easily defended, especially if the sellers followed the instructions presented in my famous A-Z claim guide thread, however, they are now left to hope that this will not happen more frequently than once in a while, otherwise they can expect losing both their funds and merchandise.
The entire Seller Union team strongly dislikes this approach and we will do our best to push Amazon into scrapping the policy.
