Recently, Amazon made an e-mail announcement outlining anticipated changes to fees across product categories. They include the introduction of a fee category guidelines page, upgrade to the fee preview report or addition of the referral fee reimbursement policy.
Fee category guidelines The fee category guidelines provide detailed lists of the products in each category, allowing you to quickly find the fee category for a specific product. |
Your product’s fee category may differ from how the product appears in Amazon’s stores. While an item could appear in multiple browse locations to help customers find it, each type of product can belong to only one fee category to ensure that a single rate applies to all products of a kind. |
For instance, a children’s book may be cross-listed on the Amazon retail site under both Books and Toys, but all children’s books belong under the Books fee category only. |
Fee Preview report With the upgraded Fee Preview report you can view upcoming changes, if any, to your ASINs’ fee category. |
We audit our store on an ongoing basis to ensure that ASINs are in the correct fee category as shown in the fee category guidelines. If we correct any of your fee categories, they will display in the Fee Preview report as an upcoming reassignment. |
Any correction of fee categories may affect your referral fees and FBA monthly storage fees. |
Referral fee reimbursement policy
A Referral fee reimbursement policy has been added to provide more clarity about the process for claiming a reimbursement due to a disputed referral-fee categorisation.
