Over the past few weeks, many sellers have been coming to me, asking for help with a new type of Seller Account deactivations. These are not regular suspensions, because affected sellers are unable to access their accounts at all and Amazon is referring to them as “Account closures”.
Here you can view a copy of such deactivation notice:
For years I have been advising sellers not to ever confirm dispatch of their orders and then issue a refund, without the customer requesting it and this new type of Amazon Seller Account enforcement is the consequence.
Amazon’s software is tracking all refunds issued and if you are refunding without receiving a prior return request or a cancellation from the customer, you may be a subject to account closure.
So I would strongly advise you to only sell items which you are able to fulfill and don’t confirm as shipped and refund instead of properly cancelling.
