Recently, the United States Postal Service (USPS) reviewed their requirements affecting Dangerous Goods (DG) and Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT).
Any such packages containing Dangerous Goods and Hazardous Materials are now required to include a Declaration of Dangerous Goods.
As the Shipper of record, you are responsible and liable for correctly preparing and shipping Dangerous Goods and Hazardous Materials. If you’re unsure whether your package is a Dangerous Good/Hazardous Material, please click here to read USPS’s guideline on Dangerous Goods.
When it comes to packing and shipping dangerous goods, there are a few key things to keep in mind. First, always use the proper packaging for the specific type of dangerous good being shipped. Second, be sure to clearly label the package with the proper warnings and instructions. Third, make sure the package is properly sealed and secured so that there is no risk of leakage or spillage.
