Update to Amazon fee category names on July 5

Amazon just announced some changes that will make managing your fee categories so much easier. Starting from July 5, 2023, a bunch of fee categories on the Amazon fee schedule will be given new names. There won’t be any changes to the rates associated with these updates. So, let’s dive in and see what this means.

First things first, two categories are getting new names. The Education Supplies category will be renamed as Business Industrial, and the Food Service category will be known as Scientific Supplies. These new names will help you better match your products with the right fee categories without any confusion. Referral fees are staying exactly the same.

To keep you in the loop, Amazon will be updating two important pages on July 5:

  1. Selling on Amazon Fee Schedule: This is the place where you can find all the important details about fees. Just head to the main page and choose your country from the list. Make sure you take a look at the updated fee schedule to make sure you categorize your products correctly and manage your fees with ease.
  2. Changes to Programme Policies: Amazon is also making changes to the policy pages to match the new names of fee categories. It’s always a good idea to stay updated and read about any policy changes. You wouldn’t want to be caught off guard, right?

So, starting from July 5, 2023, fee categories will have new names, but the rates will stay the same. Just keep an eye out for the updated fee schedule and familiarize yourselves with the renamed categories.
