Recently, Amazon introduced a Long-term Storage Fee for units that have been stored in their fulfillment centers for 271 to 365 days. They continue charging it for units that have been in Amazon FBA warehouses for more than 365 days. These fees are assessed on the 15th day of each month.
However, the ”Long Term Storage Fee” name has been replaced by a new term called “aged inventory surcharge”. Amazon is now using the newly implemented wording in every e-mail, along with an explanatory note.
Here you can view a screenshot of such e-mail announcement:
Here is a copy of the wording in English:
Upcoming aged inventory surcharge assessment Hello, On May 15, 2022, we introduced an aged inventory surcharge for units that have been stored in fulfillment centers for 271 to 365 days. We’ll continue to charge the aged inventory surcharge, previously known as the long-term storage fee, for units that have been in fulfillment centers for more than 365 days. These fees are assessed on the 15th day of each month. Following the most recent assessment, we found units in your inventory that will be subject to one of these fees if they aren’t sold or removed before next month’s assessment date. You can find your estimated aged inventory surcharge fees on the following pages: – “Manage Inventory Health”: https://sellercentral.amazon.com/inventoryplanning/manageinventoryhealth – Inventory Age report: https://sellercentral.amazon.com/reportcentral/INVENTORY_AGE/1 – Inventory Health report: https://sellercentral.amazon.com/reportcentral/INVENTORY_HEALTH/1 To view your previous fees, go to your Long-Term Storage Fee Charges report: https://sellercentral.amazon.com/reportcentral/LONGTERM_STORAGE_FEE_CHARGES/1 To avoid aged inventory surcharge fees, go to Automated fulfillable inventory settings, https://sellercentral.amazon.com/recoveryui/removal-setting/automated-lts, and enable automated liquidation, return, or disposal orders before the next assessment date. The following inventory will be removed automatically, unless you opt out: – Units that have been in fulfillment centers for more than 365 days and subject to aged inventory surcharge fees – Units of ASINs that haven’t sold in six or more consecutive months and have been in fulfillment centers for more than 180 days For more information, go to “2022 FBA monthly storage fee and aged inventory surcharge”: https://sellercentral.amazon.com/gp/help/external/GJ9NNG7RK4TU6E3Z The Fulfillment by Amazon team |
