Starting 2.March 2021, Etsy will no longer permitting the sale of specific pandemic related products, including:
• Hand-sanitizer products, such as liquids, sprays, gels, or wipes.
• Products purporting to disinfect, sterilize or sanitize, surfaces or items, or make similar claims.
The company stated that this decision is due to them not being able to verify the compliance of these items with applicable laws and official certification requirements.
They will be also removing the entire hand sanitizer selling category and affected sellers are advised to discontinue the sale of above mentioned products.

| An Important Message from Etsy Hello, This is a message from Etsy’s Marketplace Integrity team. We’re getting in touch to let you know about an upcoming update to the enforcement of our Prohibited Items Policy that may impact one or more listings in your shop, PanoramaCityUnique. In accordance with our Prohibited Items Policy, we have determined that as of March 2, 2021, we will no longer be able to accommodate the following item types in our marketplace: • Hand-sanitizer products, such as liquids, sprays, gels, or wipes. • Products purporting to disinfect, sterilize or sanitize, surfaces or items, or make similar claims. We take protecting our marketplace very seriously and work hard to balance the enforcement of our policies with the unique variety of handmade items our sellers contribute to the marketplace. As Etsy does not have access or control to verify your listed products, this action is based on listing content and includes listings that state they meet safety requirements or certifications. We will remove the hand sanitizer selling category on March 1 and begin removing these items from our marketplace on March 2, 2021. By agreeing to Etsy’s Terms of Use, you are responsible for following both Etsy’s policies and all applicable laws related to the items you sell and the use of our services. Please take the following steps to fulfill this responsibility: • Discontinue creating and/or renewing listings for these kinds of items. Please disable any auto-renewal settings for these listings as well. • Complete any open orders you may have for items that will be impacted by this change. It may help to remove these items from your active inventory so you don’t receive new orders for these items between now and March 2, 2021. As a reminder, Etsy’s Prohibited Items Policy prohibits statements or suggestions that a product prevents, heals, or treats a terminal or serious medical condition or disease. Further, certain types of claims are subject to legal and regulatory requirements. Examples of the kinds of claims to avoid include, but aren’t limited to, the following: • Sterilizing, disinfecting, antimicrobial, germicidal and germ resistant properties • Virus, bacteria, pathogen, Influenza or Flu protection or prevention • Suggesting an item sterilizes, kills or similarly inhibits the Covid-19 virus This language is prohibited anywhere in your listing, including in the title, description, tags or listing photos. Listings with medical claims may be removed from the site. Shops that repeatedly have listings removed may be suspended.
