[whohit]Can the world’s largest Amazon seller accounts get suspended?[/whohit]Some German sellers noticed, that the second largest Amazon account in the country has been inactive for a few days. The reasons were unclear. ReBuy reCommerce GmbH had no more products listed for sale on Amazon.
The Berlin retailer is the ninth largest Amazon seller account worldwide and the number two in Germany. They sell used goods from the media, book and consumer electronics sectors. The company employs around 490 people and in 2018 had a turnover of almost 140 million euros.
After investigation into the matter, in an article originally published in German, it turned out that the company was hit by an authenticity complaint over a pre-owned DVD sold within the Amazon France marketplace and this triggered the entire European account deactivation.
As of today, 12.February the company is already back on the platform and trading, apparently having the issue quickly resolved.
Cases like this should only prompt sellers into establishing their businesses across multiple different selling platforms and not limiting themselves to Amazon.
