Amazon is converting established Seller Accounts into Payments Based on Delivery Date!

Having an “aged” Amazon Seller Account has always been a dream for many sellers, as it meant that payment disbursements were available daily and for all orders processed.

In August 2016, the company drastically changed their policies, updating the disbursement schedule of all newly opened Amazon storefronts after that date into the dreaded “Payments on delivery date” option, which restricts merchants into getting paid for each order no earlier than 7 days following the latest Estimated Delivery Date.

It meant that many sellers had to wait months before getting paid for goods shipped to Amazon customers.

Other Amazon Europe Seller Accounts, which were opened prior to August 2016 were still able to happily disburse once in a 24 hour period, taking all earnings.

However, despite Amazon allowed established merchants to enjoy the original disbursement schedule, the situation only attracted various bad actors who were trying to purchase or otherwise obtain as many “aged” accounts as possible to participate in fraudulent activity and run away with money without fulfilling orders.

Facebook groups are full of adverts from questionable individuals offering thousands of dollars for those who agree to sell their pre-2016 registered Amazon stores.

As a result, Amazon is now cracking down on the original disbursement schedule, converting as many established stores as possible into the “Payments based on Delivery date” option.

If you are asking yourself, how could it happen to you, the answer is simple.

Once you update even the tiniest detail in your Seller Account or Amazon just randomly hits you with a verification asking for “Articles of association document”, “Copy of the most recent tax return”, etc…, your disbursements may get put on hold.

When you successfully pass the verification, you will find your established Amazon Seller Account being subject to annoying payment holds, just like someone who opened their account yesterday!

Eventually, sooner or later – all Amazon sellers will get converted.
