According to Amazon’s alerts published in the Seller Central’s Manage FBA Shipments section, Amazon FBA shipping interface will be fully updated on 1.September 2022:
Check out our Send to Amazon workflow Sellers who have registered with FBA before June 23, 2022, can continue to use the old workflow, Send/replenish inventory, to create new shipments until August 31, 2022. Starting September 1, all new FBA shipments must be created in Send to Amazon or through APIs. |
Prior to sending goods into Amazon’s FBA warehouse, sellers will be required to create their shipments using “Send to Amazon” or STA. Starting September, when sellers try to replenish inventory, the system will default to “Send to Amazon”, or sellers can access “Send to Amazon” from the delivery queue.
Until August 31, sellers can continue to use the old workflow to create new shipments, but after September 1, “Send to Amazon” will be the only process for creating shipments.
WHAT ARE THE NEW FEATURES OF THE NEW PROCESS?
1. Reusable original packaging templates can be created, which can be used directly for subsequent replenishment, thus saving time in creating shipments.
2. The packaging box configuration will be templated, so it will be easier to send replenishment for SKUs using the same specification packaging.
3. After completing the above process, you can create the shipment number and automatically assign the shipping destination warehouse.
4. If the boxing quantity is wrong, you can modify it before completing the creation. If the quantity is not much, it can be sent directly to FBA and corrected when it is on the shelf.
5. Single SKU packing boxes and mixed SKU packing boxes can be added to the same workflow, packing single SKU and mixed SKU packing boxes first, then creating the shipment and updating the quantity when packing, and then confirming the shipping destination of the shipment.
HOWEVER, THE FEEDBACK RECEIVED SO FAR SHOWS THAT THERE ARE SEVERAL SHORTCOMINGS IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS:
- All information must be entered into the message box in advance. But many times there are supply chain constraints to get all products in advance, so the process becomes complicated instead.
- Sellers can’t see the carrier who arranged the pickup in the shipment details.
- Shipments cannot be duplicated.
- All scheduled shipments can no longer be viewed in a single shipment.
- There is no prompt to enter a name for a new shipment, which is easily ignored and not easy to find later.
- There is no option for labeling the subject.
- There is no way to cancel a transaction.
