Over the past year, many seasoned third party Amazon Sellers watched in horror as lots of their popular listings suddenly became blocked and unavailable for sale. Some of them received e-mails, informing them that Amazon is introducing additional approval requirements for these products. When attempting to relist them and reapply, sellers were brought to a simple blank page with a red ”Your account does not qualify” message in the middle.
This type of restriction is specific to established Seller Accounts. Just Launched accounts are typically able to continue listing and selling identical products without issues.
Some sellers spent a significant amount of time trying to contact Amazon and have this restriction lifted. However, no manner of escalation worked. Regardless if you have invoices, authorization letters or several years of successfully selling these products behind you, Amazon will not allow you to apply using the standard means.
According to an Amazon Account Health Team representative, who discussed the matter by one of the affected sellers, ”Your account does not qualify” restriction is tied to customer satisfaction metrics. That’s why it only affects longtime sellers with a sufficient performance history for evaluation.
If you have a return, refund or a customer contact rate exceeding 5%, you might be scheduled for an unappealable restriction.
Please note, that ”Your account does not qualify” restriction is completely different from the standard gated brands, which are related to the brand’s popularity or approval criteria, rather than your customer service performance.
